Opened in 1979 by Gerry & Colleen Paquette, the FrameMaker is a landmark Sudbury business. Known for superior service, industry expertise, and one-on-one design; the FrameMaker has been serving discerning customers in the North for nearly 40 years. Purchased by Giorgio & Karen Lagana in 2014, the FrameMaker maintains the excellent service standard that had been established over the previous 35 years, while bringing a fresh new perspective to the shop. Joanne Belfiore joined the FrameMaker team as manager and co-designer.
Karen continues to offer top customer service, quality framing selection, and innovative design. The shop offers not only beautiful and unique custom framing, but conservation materials and methods to protect and preserve your art. Every project is completed in house, by the framer who you placed your order with. This ensures that no detail is left unchecked, and the most personal attention is given to your project. The FrameMaker chooses to offer personal and reliable one-on-one service in an ever changing and impersonal world.
Karen Lagana – Owner & Designer
Karen was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario and is a graduate from Cambrian College, in the business sector. She is a devoted wife to Giorgio Lagana for 30 years and together they have three children.
In her early years, Karen took her business education and developed a niche in colour, texture, pattern and style in the fashion retail industry, as well an expert knowledge of amazing customer service. Karen’s passion for learning, as well as her vast years of adventuring in different levels of crafts and her drive for entrepreneurship brought her and her husband to purchasing the FrameMaker.
Over the years Karen has continued the legacy of quality custom framing left behind by the original owners of the business, Gerry and Colleen Paquette. As the custom framing industry is always evolving and growing, so does The FrameMaker.
